The fifth direct flight will improve accessibility for the summer season of 2023

For the 2023 summer season, the Cayman Islands will receive a fifth weekly nonstop flight from London Heathrow, improving ease of access to the British Caribbean destination.

From 26 March 2023, British Airways’ additional direct* flight to Owen Roberts International Airport, George Town will offer greater flexibility to European travelers. The flights will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The launch of the additional flight for the Caribbean route, which has been in operation for over 25 years, follows the full removal of Covid-related travel requirements in the Cayman Islands in August 2022.

Ms. Rosa Harris, Director of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. she commented: “We are pleased with British Airways’ addition of a fifth weekly nonstop flight from London Heathrow to Grand Cayman.”

“Multiple nonstop flights throughout the week give our visitors greater flexibility when planning their trip to the Cayman Islands, allowing them to tailor their trip around the exceptional vacation experiences they desire most. from our 365 spectacular dive sites and more than 200 restaurants to our immersive wildlife experiences and colorful annual events.”

Ms Harris added: “The additional direct flight demonstrates the growing desire of European travelers to visit our islands and will hopefully allow us to surpass our pre-pandemic visitor numbers.”
