TAG Airlines continues to reinforce its fleet

The airline continues to renew its fleet to strengthen connectivity in Central America and southern Mexico

The second new ATR 72 aircraft arrived in Guatemala from Toulouse, France, which will allow TagAirlines to strengthen its air fleet and advance in the process of modernization and connectivity in the Central American region and southern Mexico.

In this way, TagAirlines adds two new aircraft to its fleet, out of a total of four that will shortly be integrated into the company’s operations.

The new aircraft was received at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City, with the traditional water arch, in the presence of airline executives led by Marcela Toriello, President of TagAirlines, and Julio Gamero, CEO of the airline. , in the company of special guests, including Anayansy Rodríguez, General Director of the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism; Captain Francis Argueta, Director of Civil Aviation of Guatemala, and Rolando Schweikert, President of the Chamber of Tourism of Guatemala.

“TAG Airlines, the flag carrier of Guatemala and Mundo Maya, is experiencing a new era and is strengthening its air fleet with the incorporation of the new ATR 72, which will allow the company to continue with the strategy of expanding connectivity in Central America and the south of Mexico”, assured Marcela Toriello, President of TagAirlines.

For his part, Julio Gamero, CEO of TagAirlines, recalled that last March, TAG Airlines signed a historic agreement with the company Willis Lease Finance, for the lease of a total of four aircraft that will strengthen the company’s air fleet. .

Willis Lease Finance Corporation is an American company, headquartered in Coconut Creek, Florida, that leases aircraft, commercial aircraft engines, auxiliary power units, engine mounts, repair and overhaul liners to airlines in 120 countries.

The ATR 72 type aircraft are considered the most efficient and ecological in the world’s regional fleets, and have the capacity to comfortably transport 74 passengers in a spacious two by two seating configuration.

TAG Airlines is the flag carrier of Guatemala that has maintained a firm commitment to air connectivity and development for 60 years. It currently operates 25 daily flights in five countries: Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Belize and Mexico, with a fleet of more than 20 aircraft.

In the case of Mexico, it flies from Guatemala to Cancún, Mérida, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Tapachula and Oaxaca, in addition to the Cancún-Flores and Mérida-Flores routes.
