The Paraguayan airline resumed its only domestic service between Asunción and Ciudad del Este, which had been suspended due to the COVID pandemic.
The return of the local connection was celebrated with an inaugural flight attended by the Minister of Tourism, Sofía Montiel de Afara; the General Manager of Paranair, Jaime Cassola; the president of the DINAC, Felix Kanazawa; director of the AISP Airport, Douglas Cubilla; Guaraní Airport authorities; entrepreneurs from the tourism sector of Asunción and the East of the country.
During the flight, Jaime Cassola, CEO of Paranair, pointed out that the resumption of the flight is “the consequence of the sum of the joint efforts of the authorities of the National Government and the various tourist associations who have pushed this project, thanks to those who bet on the continuity of the route with the same enthusiasm that we do”.
In addition, he explained that the news generates great expectations, since the connection “will strengthen commercial ties and tourism in the region.”
On the other hand, the head of Senatur also spoke about the return of the service and clarified her commitment to work with Paranair in promoting the air route: “From the National Government we are going to continue working to make this route sustainable in Over time, working with operators, agencies and tourist companies from Alto Paraná, generating tourist packages for families and incentives for corporate tourism is the way to position this air route”, he asserted.
The company will have two round trip flights on Tuesday and Friday, and they will be operated with its CRJ 200 with a capacity of 50 seats.
