The event that seeks to represent the natural wealth and wonders that the Mexican city has to offer begins on November 17
Accompanied by Jorge Dibildox, president of Grupo Expansión; Ernesto Rivas, president of Sabino; and Miles Daisher, technical director and the most recognized athlete worldwide in base jumping and skydiving, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) indicated that this sports fair, which will take place in Mexcaltitán, San Blas and Nuevo Nayarit, It is part of the actions carried out in coordination with the three orders of government, as well as with the private sector, for the organization of events of international stature.
He stressed that it is part of the development of new tourist products in the various destinations of the country, with the purpose of continuing with its process of consolidation and positioning in the world.
“In the Ministry of Tourism, since the beginning of the present administration, headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, we have been focused on increasing the economic benefit and the per capita spending of tourists who visit us, above all to guarantee that the benefits of the kind tourist activity permeates the local population, and does not remain only in macroeconomic results”, he commented.
He pointed out that in the daily competition for international markets, it is necessary to remain at the forefront in terms of diversification and innovation of the tourist offer, with proposals that provide a unique and unforgettable experience to our tourists, who are increasingly informed and more demanding.
In this sense, Torruco Marqués explained that “Nayarit from Heaven” is a spectacle of speed and precision never seen before in America, where competitors will land at more than 110 kilometers per hour on the Pacific waters that bathe the paradisiacal beaches of the beautiful Nayarit state.
He affirmed that in this competition, which will be broadcast on various digital platforms, as well as on television and news, reaching Europe and America, the 16 best skydivers in the world will participate in this discipline, coming from 9 countries: Australia, Germany, Chile, Brazil , Canada, United States, Spain, Italy and Mexico.
“With actions like this, we promote and disseminate the Nayarit destination on the international scene, in order to intensify its tourist activity and, with it, generate well-being and a better quality of life for its inhabitants, especially for those who are linked to tourism”, stated.
The head of Sectur referred to other events of international stature that have been held in different destinations, such as the world record of the German Alexander Schulz, who crossed the majestic and emblematic Sumidero Canyon, in Chiapas, on a tightrope called “Highline”; also “Superhuman”, held at the beginning of this year, where the ultra-marathon runner Daniel Almanza covered more than 6 thousand kilometers of the national territory in 100 days, passing through 22 states, 10 Magical Towns and 11 World Heritage Sites.
He also mentioned the “Great Desert Race”, which took place last October, which was hosted by Sonora, with the participation of the best athletes of 10 nationalities, and representatives of the Rarámuri and Totonac indigenous communities; as well as the “Mar a Mar” race, scheduled from December 2 to 4 in Baja California Sur, with the participation of athletes from more than 10 countries around the world.
“The realization of these events, along with other actions, contribute to the diversification of tourist activity and economic benefits, which is reflected in the results, as evidenced by the arrival of 27 million 542 thousand international tourists in the January period -September 2022, which means a recovery of 84% compared to what was registered in the same interval of 2019”, he added.
He stressed that in terms of foreign exchange, which is how the tourist potential of a nation is measured, in the first 9 months of this year, 19 thousand 328 million dollars were captured, that is, 14% higher than what was obtained in the same period of 2019. .
Torruco Marqués specified that this recovery is also due to the policies implemented by the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, during the pandemic by not restricting international flights, the application of biosanitary protocols in coordination with the Health and Tourism Secretariats, and with the private sector collaboration; and the vaccination strategy.
“I have no doubt that this sports contest will be a memorable event and that it will contribute to strengthening the economy of Nayarit. The communion between the public and private sectors is the best formula to make Mexico a more competitive destination”, he concluded.
For his part, the Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit, and also president of the Union of Secretaries of Tourism (Asetur), Juan Enrique Suárez del Real Tostado, highlighted that after more than a year of joint work with Secretary Torruco Marqués, the consolidate an event that exalts and represents the natural wealth and wonders that Nayarit has to offer.
He also announced that next December, in a joint effort between Secretary Torruco Marqués and the Governor, Miguel Ángel Navarro, the International Paragliding Tournament will be held in the Magic Town of Jala, an event that he assured will cause a sensation. on an international level.
He thanked the head of Sectur for always believing, trusting, but above all thinking about Nayarit. “We are committed to what you are doing, the Governor has always said that whatever you share, we will get 200% of it, because we know that the idea that you offer is a safe idea and it is a successful idea for tourism in the condition”.
On his occasion, Jorge Dibildox, president of Grupo Expansión, expressed his appreciation to the Nayarit authorities, “but above all also to the federal Secretary of Tourism who could not make this possible without his support and without his vision.” He assured that without this type of strategic alliances, these types of events of this nature and of a global nature cannot be carried out; and reiterated his commitment to be able to carry them out.
