FiturNext 2023 promotes the regeneration of the natural environment through tourism

FiturNext, the FITUR Observatory dedicated to promoting good sustainable tourism practices, in partnership with CAF -development bank of Latin America- will host four conferences dedicated to promoting regenerative tourism between January 18 and 21 within the framework of the FITUR International Tourism Fair organized by IFEMA MADRID.

The program will complement the awards ceremony for the winning initiatives of the 2023 challenge with a series of talks, dialogues and round tables that will value the role of tourism in the regeneration of the natural environment, promoting activities and services that promote sustainability and responsibility. climate.

Recognized experts committed to regenerative tourism

The event will be attended by professionals from the tourism sector who promote an industry that is aware of the environment and the local community of the destination. Among them, the figures of Marta Domènech, Director of Tourism of Catalonia; Antonia Varela, Managing Director of the Starlight Foundation, and Erika Harms, Strategic Director of Coastal Health, Iberostar Group.

Domènech works from the Directorate of Tourism of Catalonia, among other issues, in regenerative tourism projects. For her part, Varela promotes astrotourism and local development through the Starlight Foundation, while Harms has focused her career on initiatives such as the Alliance for Sustainable Tourism and was Founding Executive Director of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).

Awards ceremony for the winning initiatives of the 2023 Challenge

As every year, the FiturNext programming has the high point of the edition: the awards ceremony for the winning projects of the Challenge, this year dedicated to how tourism can contribute to the regeneration of the natural environment.
