Colombian air connectivity reports 89% recovery

Between January and October 2023, national connectivity has shown a recovery of 89%, compared to the same period of the previous year

National air connectivity is a fundamental factor that favors the revitalization of the country’s internal tourism. Despite the difficulties that occurred in the first half of the year, a recovery is being reported, this promotes the visit of Colombians to the different destinations of the country.

ANATO calculates, based on data provided by ProColombia, that between January and October 2023, national connectivity has shown a recovery of 89%, compared to the same period of the previous year.

“The aforementioned recovery is of great importance for the Travel Agency sector, allowing tourism packages to be strengthened through different flight options. Providing more complete services in line with the preferences of travelers.” Said Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.

For this period, Orinoquía has presented a recovery of 97% in its direct weekly frequencies on domestic flights, followed by the Andean region with 93%, the Amazon with 92%, the Pacific with 87% and finally the Caribbean region is at 76%. % of the national connectivity that they had in the same period of 2022.

“The recovery registered by the regions is very positive. “It is essential to promote destinations with tourist potential, which were not previously visited by Colombians; this encourages travelers to discover new experiences.” The union leader concluded.
