Brazil promotes its attractions in Miami and Los Angeles

Embratur holds events in both cities as part of the “Brazil Experience” roadshow

After the success of the business conferences in New York, the Brazil Experience arrives in Miami this Tuesday (28) and closes the first semester in Los Angeles on Thursday (30). The action is part of the cycle of roadshows promoted by Embratur to train national and international operators and businesses in various countries with the aim of strengthening Brazil’s image in the foreign market.

During the first six months of the year, Brazil Experience promoted the interaction of the tourism market of seven countries in South America and North America: Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Canada and the United States. In this period, 1,000 professionals from the sector were trained, with more than 1,300 business meetings, which represents about 13,000 commercial contacts between Brazilian and foreign operators. In the second semester, the events will be held in Europe.

“Embratur’s goal is to expand the marketing of Brazilian tourism products and destinations abroad. In New York it was very clear that the meetings, training and business roundtables are being used very well, which will surely contribute to the increase in tourism in Brazil”, says the president of Embratur, Silvio Nascimento, who personally participated in the roadshow in recognized financial capital of the world.

The Brazilian Experience in North America was divided into two stages. In the first and last week, the activities took place in Toronto, Chicago and New York, with 12 Embratur co-exhibitor partners. The latter was attended by 180 operators and local agents. Now, in Miami and Los Angeles, there will be 16 co-exhibitors from Brazil, and more than 600 business meetings with North American agents and operators are expected at the end of the cycle.

The North American market is one of Embratur’s focus areas to attract more tourists. In total, 590,000 American visitors were in Brazil in 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic, which positioned the United States as the second source of international tourists to the country, behind only Argentina. Since June 2019, there is a visa exemption for Americans and Canadians to enter Brazil, an issue that has been reinforced during roadshows as a facilitator of tourist access.

According to a recent survey by Embratur’s Market and Competitive Intelligence Management with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), more than 72 thousand tickets have already been purchased by tourists from the United States to disembark in Brazilian cities between June and July 2022.
