This agreement will benefit more than 600 athletes and their technical staff, who will travel non-stop to San Salvador in the modern and new Arajet Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games
Arajet, the low-price Dominican airline, signed an agreement with the Dominican Olympic Committee to become the official airline of the Dominican team that will participate in the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games to be held next June in San Salvador, El Savior.
The announcement was made at the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) with the presence of its president, Garibaldi Bautista, the Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho and the CEO and founder of Arajet, Víctor Miguel Pacheco, who informed that this agreement will benefit more than 600 athletes and their technical staff, who will travel non-stop to San Salvador in the modern and new Arajet Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
“For Arajet it is a pride to be able to collaborate with Dominican sports and support all the athletes who raise our flag in competitions around the world, for this reason today we make available our direct routes from Santo Domingo to Central and South America as a way to promote the development of the sport ahead of the San Salvador Games”, expressed Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet.
The sports authorities explained the importance of having an official airline since it guarantees non-stop connectivity to mobilize athletes to the competition, ensuring their comfort and tranquility and with a lower price for the State.
“And from now on we can announce that this agreement with Arajet will cover more than the Central American and Caribbean games, but that we will extend it to the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile and other international competitions on the Continent, so that this Dominican flag carrier will become the official airline of the national teams” explained Garibaldi Bautista, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, who added that “this will allow more athletes to compete and achieve their dreams internationally. That is why from the COD we have always defended that when the public and private sectors come together through the Olympic Committee, only good things can happen for our athletes and federations”.
For his part, Minister Francisco Camacho reported that the financial resources necessary for the Dominican team to participate in the Central American Games in San Salvador are already in the process of being deposited in their entirety in the COD.
The 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, officially known as the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Sports Games San Salvador 2023, will be a regional multi-sport event that will take place between June 23 and July 8, 2023 in the capital of El Salvador, San Salvador.
Similarly, the Dominican delegation will also participate this year in the 2023 Pan American Games in October in Santiago de Chile.
