Aquatica Orlando announces new water slide with immersive experience for 2024

Tassie’s Underwater Twist will be an immersive attraction with sound and video elements that will take participants on an educational and inspiring journey

Voted the best water park in the United States for the fourth year in a row by USA Today readers, Aquatica Orlando introduces an all-new attraction. Tassie’s Underwater Twist will premiere in the second quarter of 2024 and promises to bring elements never seen before. This will be an immersive water slide that will completely transform the experience of Aquatica Orlando visitors, who will now be able to live an adventure inspired by the seagrasses of Shark Bay, Australia.

An immersive experience like no other, Tassie’s Underwater Twist will transport participants to the depths of the ocean, where they can discover an underwater world teeming with marine life. Manufactured by WhiteWater West Industries, the renovated water slide will be more than 39 meters high and feature a giant funnel through which participants will slide on a two-person float surrounded by lush seagrasses, colorful schools and even sharks that can appear by surprise.

To enhance the experience, the attraction will also feature synchronized video and sound elements. Video projections will bring the underwater world to life, while music will create an inspiring feeling. In addition to being an exciting water slide, Tassie’s Underwater Twist will provide a moment of environmental education. Visual components along the route will highlight the importance of seagrasses and the lives that depend on them.

“Tassie’s Underwater Twist will redefine the entire Aquatica Orlando experience,” said Brad Gilmour, President of Aquatica Orlando. “As we eagerly await the grand opening, we can say that this immersive attraction promises many adrenaline-filled sensations and twists. We have created an experience that will not only delight water ride lovers, but will also create lasting memories for families and friends. With this new addition, our visitors will be able to immerse themselves in an underwater world of wonder, where fun and excitement combine with curiosity and education.”
