After establishing itself as the gastronomic capital of the Caribbean, the island will organize the second edition of the Gastronomy Festival from November 11 to 22.
The island of Saint Martin is famous not only for its turquoise waters, it is also a popular gastronomic capital among expert gourmets, who here enjoy the natural beauty of the “island of 37 beaches” while discovering new flavors. That is why, to pay tribute to the exceptional culinary heritage of this destination, the Saint Martin Tourist Office organized the Gastronomy Festival in 2021.
This first edition was a resounding success and attracted the attention of local and international media, such as the famous American travel magazine Travel+ Leisure (14,700,000 visits each month), which enthusiastically praised the “gastronomic capital of the Caribbean”. . There was also a lot of visibility on social networks thanks to the organization of tailor-made stays for several invited influencers, who together had more than a million followers.
A feast for the palate
From November 11 to 22, 2022, a multitude of culinary talents from all over the world and lovers of tasty and colorful dishes will meet for the second edition of the Festival. This year, the Tourist Office once again highlights the culinary diversity of the island to pay tribute to the exceptional heritage that has earned it fame. This richness is the fruit of an anchored Caribbean gastronomic culture and a significant concentration of creative chefs from different countries, who have found inspiration on the island.
The event will feature numerous activities to delight the palate of the public. Among them, cooking workshops for adults and children will be organized by national and international chefs and the many restaurants in Saint Martin participating in the competition will offer “discovery” menus. These menus will pay tribute to the theme of this 2022 edition: the plantain, an essential ingredient in Caribbean cuisine. From November 18 to 20, the Town of Gastronomy will invite the public to discover local products.
In addition, the Festival offers other unavoidable events. Local culture will be honored, especially with the barbecue demonstration on November 15 and the mixology contest on November 21. They are two main events of the festival, with the participation of professionals and a jury! Bars and restaurants can take part in the show and masterfully challenge each other to offer the public the best Caribbean cocktails and the irresistible flavors of the local barbecue, so popular on Friendly Island. The excitement is guaranteed!

The Tourist Office has invited talented chefs, who will bring a special energy to the Festival of Gastronomy. Nicolas Sale (mainland France), chef with 2 Michelin stars, godfather of the 2022 edition; Laurent Huguet (mainland France), 1-star chef de cuisine, “Maître Cuisinier” of France; Ilham Moudnib (mainland France), pastry chef finalist in the Women’s World Cup of Pastry; Ninon Fauvarque (mainland France), mixologist, winner of the Havana Club Cocktail Prix contest in 2018; Lionel Lévy (mainland France), chef with 1 Michelin star; Vladimir François-Maïkoouva (Martinique) private chef, trainer and consultant; Rafael Pires (Brazil), chef de cuisine trained at the School of Culinary Arts of the Institut Paul Bocuse; Daniel Vézina (Canada), ambassador of “réfléchie” (no waste) cuisine; Maame Boakye (Ghana), winner of the “Best at the Fare Savory” title at the well-known The World Trade Fare Festival in New York; Kevin Bludso (United States), barbecue expert and two-time winner of the Steve Harvey Hoodie Award; Mia Mastroianni (United States), mixologist and consultant.
Saint Martin will also have the presence of Alain Warth, director of the Gastronomy Team for continental and overseas France of the SCR Prod group, founder of the Gault & Millau Antilles-Guyane guide and coordinator of the chefs for this 2nd edition of the Festival de la Gastronomy. The expert consultant in hospitality and mixology, Arthur Sutley, will also be among these prestigious guests.

Thanks to the numerous collaborations established with a fortnight of influencers from the USA, South America, Canada and Europe, and thanks to the reception of more than 25 journalists, the Saint Martin Gastronomy Festival will once again become an appointment unmissable for all those who wish to discover an authentic, pulsating and hedonistic island.
